(San Juan, Puerto Rico May 28, 2021) El programa extracurricular creado por el jugador, Warren Creavalle y Omri Gal, Design FC, tendrán el diseño de dos de sus integrantes y un estadio de Design FC con señalización virtual, tifos y más en el video juego de FIFA 21.
Design FC, es un programa extracurricular en Chester que anima a los estudiantes de primaria y secundaria a desarrollar sus pensamientos creativos y a autoexpresarse a través del diseño de camisetas de fútbol.
En este programa los estudiantes diseñan camisetas que muestran su sentir sobre sus familias, artistas preferidos y los últimos acontecimientos sociales, como lo es el movimiento de Black Lives Matter.
A raíz de esto los estudiantes de séptimo grado, Nyrell Hackett y Kevin Standford diseñaron unas camisetas de justicia social que formarán parte del video juego FIFA 21.
Standford en entrevista con la MLS señaló que su diseño fue inspirado en Black Lives Matter y que es todo lo que llevaba acumulado por dentro que finalmente pudo dejar salir en esta camiseta.
“It felt relieving that I could finally take everything that I had built up deep down inside and let it all out on a jersey. It felt like it all came out at once and it felt like I didn’t have so much built up on my back anymore. I didn’t have to carry this much anger on me anymore. But yeah, that is just a little bit of anger that came out of me, got much more but that’s just one part that came out and it felt great.»
Por su parte Hackett le indicó a los de la MLS que su diseño tiene la palabra “NUMB” porque desde sus seis años tuvo esa sensación de que no sentía nada.
«When I was six, I’ve had this feeling where I didn’t feel anything. Didn’t feel any hurt, no feelings, no nothing. So I had to put ‘NUMB’ on [my jersey] because it still happens to this day,» Hackett said when describing his jersey design. «And I don’t think it’s ever going to stop. I guess you can say I wasn’t numb when I was talking about it, but I was expressing how I felt. So when I saw [NUMB] on that jersey, I knew that I accomplished something. I can’t be scared to talk about it. And that’s one thing I learned in DFC.»
