The Puerto Rico Islanders are pleased to announce the signing of Guyanese forward Gregory Richardson for the 2011 North American Soccer League (NASL) season, the CFU Club Champions Cup, and eventually the CONCACAF Champions League.
Richardson played for Carolina Railhawks from July 2009 to the 2010 Championship Series against the Puerto Rico Islanders, where the Tropa Naranja was crowned USSF D-2 Pro League champs. Richardson scored a total of 10 goals for the Railhawks.
“Gregory is an experienced player that knows the league. We are very excited to have him on our roster and expect great things from him this season”, said Islanders assistant coach Adrian Whitbread.
Richardson will wear the Islanders jersey this Sunday at 6pm at Al Lang Stadium against FC Tampa Bay. Game will be streamed live at www.prislandersfc.com/live.
