The Puerto Rico Islanders announced that the core of the 2008 squad will be back for the upcoming season.
«We believe that the key to success to our successful 2008 season was the quality and unity that our players had on and off the field. This is what we are looking for in 2009 with all these returning players» said Islanders Vice-President Jorge Pierluisi.
The following players will be back for the 2009 season:
Bill Gaudette (USL Goalkeeper of the Year)
Cristian Arrieta (USL Defender of the Year)

Osei Telesford is recovering from an injury but should be back to training within the next couple of weeks. In addition, there are several players on trial trying to earn a spot in the Islanders roster» said Islanders President Andres Guillemard.
