Striker David Foley‘s Hartlepool contract has been cancelled so that the player can make a move to North America.
Foley’s contract had been set to expire at the end of the season and after having limited first team chances this season he asked the club to terminate his contract early.
This is so he can make the move to the Puerto Rico Islanders who currently play one division below the MLS. Foley made 125 appearances for the club and scored 7 goals, all in cup competitions.
His last first team goal came just over a year ago as Pools knocked Premier League side Stoke out of the FA Cup but he had played only 26 minutes of first team football this season.
