BAYAMON, Puerto Rico – Brad Stisser’s goal in the 36th minute held up as AC St. Louis earned their first ever road victory with a 1-0 decision against the Puerto Rico Islanders Saturday night.
Stisser’s goal came on a rebound off a shot by Mike Ambersley.
Goalkeeper Alec Dufty notched his second shutout for AC, which improved to 2-7-1. Dufty’s efforts included two critical saves in the second half to preserve the victory.
The Islanders dropped to 3-5-0.
AC takes a break from its U.S. Soccer Federation Division 2 Pro League schedule to play a first-round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match in Des Moines Wednesday against the Des Moines Menace. The Menace are a team in the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League, a third-division league.
