Nicolas Addlery, who had two goals for the Puerto Rico Islanders in their 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Tuesday, has been named the LA Soccer News Player of the Week for the week ending August 1.

Addlery’s goals gave the second division team a commanding lead in the two-game total goals series in the preliminary round of the CONCACAF Champions League.

In the 45th minute, Addlery sent a right footed side volley by LA goalkeeper Josh Saunders to make it 2-0. He made it 4-0 in the 81st minute. Addlery picked up a loose ball at midfield and made a run down the right side watched by Los Angeles defender Eddie Lewis. As Addlery reached the top of the penalty area he sent a blast that could not be caught by Saunders and went into the net.
