03/16/2009 9:29 AM – Coming off of an impressive 2-0 defeat of Mexican giant Cruz Azul in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals, the Puerto Rico Islanders come to Austin next week (Friday, April 3) to take on the Aztex at Nelson Field.
Aztex fans will get a chance to see the USL-1 side that is taking CONCACAF by storm in what will be the fifth exhibition and final tuneup for the Aztex following the team’s first road contest against another MLS side, Real Salt Lake. The Aztex travel to take on RSL on Saturday, March 21 at the new state-of-the-art Rio Tinto Stadium.
The exhibition in Austin comes at a perfect time for the Islanders as they try to maintain their high level of play following the clean sheet against Cruz Azul in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals and before the return leg on April 7 in Mexico City.
