Former University of Portland standout Logan Emory has signed a one-year contract with the Puerto Rico Islanders of the USSF Division 2 Pro League, the university announced. Emory, a defender, has been training with the Islanders for two weeks and is expected to play center back.
The Islanders play in the USL Conference of the D2 Pro League, the same division as the Portland Timbers. The Islanders begin their regular season at home April 21 and play the Timbers in Portland on Sept. 2.
