CARIBBEAN CLUB CHAMPIONS CUP DRAW ON JANUARY 15TH

Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago: The CFU Club Champions Cup draw date of January 15th , 2009 was released today by CFU Secretariat officials. The Draw will take place at the CONCACAF office in New York and will establish the knock-out pairings for the event. Initially, 12 teams will be paired for two-leg series in on March 18th and 25th, with the six winners advancing to join Puerto Rico Islanders and San Juan Jabloteh in the next Round.

The first part of the Caribbean Club Champions Cup draw will have W. Connection of Trinidad, Jamaica’s Portmore United, Haitian Clubs Tempete and Cavaly SA, Inter Moengo Tapoe of Suriname and Greenbay Hoppers of Antigua and Barbuda drawn against contenders from Puerto Rico, Guyana, Dominica, Aruba and Curacao.

The six remaining teams, being all first round winners, San Juan Jabloteh and PR Islanders will be drawn against one another in two-leg quarterfinals to be played in mid-April, with the winners advancing to single-game semi-finals on May 15th in T&T. The Final and third-place games will follow two days later at the same venue.

Both Finalists and the 3rd Place team qualify to the 2009/2010 CONCACAF Champions League.
